State to cultivate Medical Tourism through Natural Medicine Methods, similar to Kerala Model : CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that a healthy nation begins with a healthy village, which in turn relies on healthy families and individuals.

Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that an action plan is being formulated to develop medical tourism in the state, focusing on natural and alternative medical methods, similar to Kerala's model. This initiative will also generate new employment opportunities.

The state has approved 46,451 new positions in its health institutions, and 800 Ayush Arogya Mandirs have already begun their operations. The number of Ayurvedic institutions, along with medical and nursing colleges, will further increase across the state.

Dr. Yadav emphasized on the goal of establishing a medical or Ayurvedic college in every district, ensuring that citizens do not need to leave the state for treatment. The state government will collaborate with Arogya Bharti for support and guidance in planning and implementation, aiming to provide better healthcare facilities, encourage healthy lifestyles, and create a disease-free society.

Dr. Yadav delivered these remarks virtually at the All India Delegation Conference of Arogya Bharti, held in Gwalior, from Samatva Bhavan in Bhopal. Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, officials from Arogya Bharti and representatives from the Union Ayush Ministry were present at the event hosted at Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University, Gwalior.

Balaghat, Shahdol, Sagar, Morena and Narmadapuram to have Ayurveda hospitals

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the construction of Government Medical Colleges in Mandsaur, Neemuch, and Seoni has been completed, and these institutions will soon be inaugurated. To improve healthcare services across the state, a decision has been made to merge the Medical Education and Health Department.

Dr. Yadav highlighted the widespread use of Ayurvedic methods and Ayush decoction to prevent disease during the Covid period. To further promote the Indian medical system, Ayurveda hospitals will soon be established in five districts: Balaghat, Shahdol, Sagar, Morena, and Narmadapuram.

The state government is also encouraging the establishment of Ayurvedic hospitals by private entities as part of its initiative to support traditional medicine. Additionally, the Devaranya Yojana is being implemented to promote medicinal farming in tribal regions. To raise awareness about medicinal plants and support their marketing, small forest produce fairs are organized annually.
