Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Indian women have set examples of bravery and valor since the beginning. The history of India is full of sagas of brave women. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the changing times, many important steps have been taken for the empowerment of women. In this sequence, efforts to provide for the election of women to one-third of seats in the Parliament and Legislative Assembly of India will be historic. Under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a new chapter on women’s welfare and empowerment will take shape in the country in the coming two to three years.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the program of Samvad and Samman organized by the Higher Education and School Education Department at Ravindra Bhawan in Bhopal today for girl students. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that if we take India’s history of the last 500 years into account, it has been full of sagas of pride and bravery of women.
He said that this is the 500th year of Rani Durgavati’s anniversary. Our young generation should be aware of the valorous queen. Daughter of the soil of Madhya Pradesh Rani Durgavati fought 51 battles during her reign. She is accredited with defeating Akbar’s army thrice. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also mentioned the bravery of Rani of Jhansi.
Giving information about the system of administration of Devi Ahilya Bai, he said that during her tenure, Ahilya Bai built huge temples in the major religious destinations of the country including Somnath, Ujjain, and Banaras. Her true devotion to her religion is remembered with full respect.
On the talent of the daughters of the state, Dr. Yadav said that our daughters have performed best in every field. Talented daughters have brought glory to Madhya Pradesh in the country and the world. The state government will leave no stone unturned for the welfare of the women and daughters of the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav urged the girl students to take inspiration from the great women personalities of the country. He urged them to adopt their ideals in life. Referring to Indian culture, he said that our culture is recognized as the best culture in the world.
Amount transferred to 19 lakh girl students
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav transferred an amount of Rs 57 crore 18 lakh to the accounts of 19 lakh female students under the sanitation and hygiene scheme, part of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. This scheme educates school and college girls about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene practices. Operated under the School Education Department's Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, the scheme provided funds for sanitary napkins to girls from classes 7 to 12 this year. An amount of ₹300 per student was transferred directly into their bank accounts for the year.
Girl students tie Rakhi to the Chief Minister
A huge rakhi was presented and tied to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav by girl students. Dr. Yadav presented gifts to the girl students. The Chief Minister honored the girl students who led Madhya Pradesh in the Republic Day Parade New Delhi-2024 and the National Service Scheme, and the girl students who topped in various streams in the college. Besides, the girl students who participated in the Youth Exchange Program were also honored by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Talented girl students who secured first position at the state level in various streams of class 12th board examination were also honored. The Chief Minister also honored those girl students who performed best in international and national level competitions in sports activities.
At the outset, Principal Secretary of Higher Education Shri Sukhveer Singh gave the welcome address. He said that the Chief Minister has been emphasizing making continuous efforts to improve the quality of college and school education. He said that the quality of higher education in the state has been higher than the national level average. A decision has been taken to start Pradhan Mantri Colleges of Excellence in every district of the state. Besides, qualitative improvement in education is also being seen in CM Rise schools.
