BJP s second leader killed in Bihar within 12 hours, Modi criticises Nitish
Bharatiya Janata Party's Bihar vice-president Visheshwar Ojha was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Arrah area on Friday evening. According to ANI, Ojha was returning from a wedding when some unidentified assailants fired at him and fled the scene. Ojha's driver and a man also got injured in the incident. Criticising the Bihar government for failing to curb crime,BJP leader Sushil Modi said, "Chief Minister is only attending meetings to control Law and Order but criminals are out of control."

On the sidelines of a function attended by a galaxy of political leaders on Monday,Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar initiated the task of firming up pre-poll alliances of secular parties in the run up to the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections scheduled in 2017,and held an exclusive meeting with Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Ajit Singh. With the RLD having been decimated in the last parliamentary elections,held in the backdrop of the communal violence in Muzaffarnagar,Singh is understood to have expressed keenness to associate with the anti-BJP coalition that Kumar has proposed,sources said.
Patna HC stays Nitish Kumar govt s publicity blitzkrieg
The Patna High Court on Tuesday ordered a stay on Bihar government s mega promotion and campaign drive Badh Chala Bihar. The court pulled up the state government for violating the Supreme Court provisions against the use of photographs of the state chief minister in campaign material,including the just-released annual report card of the Nitish Kumar government. A division bench of the high court ordered the stay acting on a petition filed by Nagrik Jagran Manch convenor Shiv Prakash Rai.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday promised to make Bihar a dry state if he is voted to power once again. The prohibition pledge was made by Nitish in a packed auditorium, where a good number of women were in audience.
