Science and spiritualism complimentary to each other: CM Chouhan
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that science and spiritualism are complimentary to each other. India boasts of tradition of respecting all ideologies of the world. The Chief Minister was addressing an ideological seminar on science and spiritualism here today. Eminent nationalist thinker Krishna Gopal was the chief guest and Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Yoga and Research Institute, Bengaluru Dr. H. R. Nagendra the keynote speaker.
Situation remains tensed but peaceful at Bhojshala in MP,both groups offer prayers at disputed site
Amid tension over performing worship at the disputed site Bhojshala in Dhar town of Madhya Pradesh, the Bhoj Utsav Samiti on Friday shunned the site for conducting the special Basant Panchami puja on a day when the Muslims also have been allowed a two-hour slot for their `juma namaz` at the same place. We find people inside Bhojshala who have nothing to do with Sarawati puja .
BJP Suspends Leader Gulab Singh Kirar Named in Vyapam Scam Case by CBI
The BJP has suspended party leader Gulab Singh Kirar,who has been named in an FIR or police complaint by the CBI in the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh. Mr Kirar, who enjoys minister of state rank,was removed on Thursday, a day after CBI filed its first cases in the scam. He was named even by the Special Investigation Team of the state police too last year,but the party did not act against him then. Mr Kirar is a member of the state backward class and minority welfare commission. He and his son Dr Shakti Pratap Singh are both named as accused in police records. The police had even announced a cash reward on Shakti Pratap,who allegedly topped a medical exam in 2011 using illegal means.
Police officers-employees present Rs.2.32 crore cheque to CM Chouhan for assistance to earthquake affected people
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was presented a cheque of Rs. 2 crore 32 lakh 18 thousand 439 by DGP Surendra Sinh for assistance to earthquake affected people of Nepal. The amount has been contributed by state’s police officers and employees. Earlier also the police had contributed Rs. 65 lakh 96 thousand 360 towards relief to earthquake affected people of Nepal.
3.25 crore saplings to be planted through MNREGA convergence
Along with employment, opportunities of permanent livelihood are being provided through MNREGA convergence to needy cardholder rural families in the state. Now, saplings of good profit earning trees will be planted on landowner labourers through convergence of MNREGA with various departmental schemes. Besides, nurseries will also be developed and associated with livelihoods of villagers. Proper marketing arrangements will also be made to sell produce.
8.64 crore saplings to be planted during Hariyali Mahotsav
This year, 8.64 crore saplings will be planted during Hariyali Mahotsav in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed preparations for the event at Mantralaya here today. Directing for large scale plantation in urban areas,the Chief Minister instructed to carry out this campaign on greater scale in areas under municipal corporations,municipalities and Nagar Panchayats. He said that plantation is a community activity. Maximum number of people should participate in it.
Health and accident group insurance scheme for journalists
The state government has sanctioned Madhya Pradesh media representatives health and accident group insurance scheme for journalists. Under the scheme, personal health insurance of a media representative will be of Rs. 2 lakh and accident insurance Rs. 5 lakh. Media representatives of 21 to 70 years of age will be eligible for insurance. There would be cashless arrangements of treatment upto Rs. 2 lakh in the hospitals identified by insurance company.
CBI to Probe Vyapam Scam and Deaths,Rules Supreme Court
The CBI will investigate the Vyapam scam and more than 30 deaths allegedly linked to the job recruitment scandal, the Supreme Court ruled today. The CBI has sought the response of the CBI by July 24. Two days ago,Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan,whose government has been badly bruised by the controversy,called for a CBI inquiry, attributing his decision to a wish to honour public sentiment.
SC hearing on Vyapam scam today,BJP declares case closed
The BJP has declared the Vyapam scam "closed" even before the Supreme Court on Thursday hears petitions asking for a CBI probe monitored by it. For us the Vyapam issue stands closed. Union Minister Uma Bharti in Monday night said said she is "scared" by the number of deaths associated with the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh and said there is "panic" in the state due to these deaths."There is panic in Madhya Pradesh due to the deaths. Jabalpur medical college dean with links to Vyapam accused found dead
The Dean of a Jabalpur Medical College,suspected of having links to some accused in the Vyapam scam, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a hotel in south-west Delhi's Dwarka this morning. The body of Dr Arun Sharma, Dean of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Medical College in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh,was found in his room at the hotel,police said.
